There’s a right way to pour a Guinness. And no, it’s not fast. ☘️
The proper pour is a six-step ritual, trained in Ireland and honored behind our bar. Every single step matters.
1️⃣ The glass - Clean, cool, dry, and Guinness-branded. The tulip shape isn’t just for looks. It’s part of the pour.
2️⃣ The tilt - Glass at 45°, aimed at the harp logo. That’s your target.
3️⃣ The pull - Handle pulled fully forward, filling slow and steady to three-quarters. Never let the tap touch the stout.
4️⃣ The settle - Set it down. Walk away if you have to. Watch the cascade surge and separate, dark stout sinking beneath a creamy white head. This is the step most places skip. We don’t.
5️⃣ The top-off - Glass upright now. Push the tap back gently until the head rises just proud of the rim. Domed. Perfect. No spatula. No overflow.
6️⃣ The present - Handed to you steady, harp facing forward, exactly as it should be.
Start to finish? 119.5 seconds. Every time.
