Such a huge honor to have Chef Stuart Brioza at Barbacana last night, and a full-circle moment.

When I was deciding to leave Houston in search of more experience, State Bird Provisions was the very first spot I had to see in San Francisco. It was also the first place I took my dad (more of a meat and potatoes type of guy) to show him the kind of cooking I was drawn to.

Although I ended up moving to New York, State Bird was an eye-opening moment. It showed me it’s okay to be different and to create things that don’t fit a cookie-cutter concept.

Cooking for Chef at our counter last night and connecting over our dads’ picky eating days felt incredibly surreal.

Thanks again for stopping by, Chef, and thank you for the continued inspiration. 🙏

Something sweet is coming to Barbacana. 🍪

On September 17, Chef Priscilla Treviño is joining forces with Chef Sarah Momin of Soft + Salted for a dessert collab we could not pass up.

Her cookies are THICC, gooey, and clock in at a full ¼ lb. So yes, we made room.

Two chefs. One extremely good reason to skip the entrée and go straight for dessert.
