Two years in the making 💙

After having the honor of catering his older brother’s Bar Mitzvah, we knew Nico’s celebration had to be just as special, but completely his own.

So we built the menu around the things Nico loves: Khaliq’s fried chicken with ALL the sauces, herb-crusted beef tenderloin carved to order, roasted street corn, scratch-made Caesar, warm house-cut chips with dips and finishing salts, and of course, his favorite chocolate cake and warm cookies & milk.

There’s something incredibly special about being invited back to celebrate another milestone with the same family. Watching these boys grow up between events makes this one feel a little different 🥹

Fall has arrived 🥰🍁 (well, in theory 🤣)

Our seasonal Hors d’Oeuvres Catering Menu is here, featuring a mix of returning favorites and new fall additions like Roasted Apricot, Prosciutto & Whipped Ricotta Crostini, Apple C***r Bourbon Chicken, Wild Mushroom Risotto Bites, and Deluxe Chicken Pot Pie Pocket Pies.

These packages are perfect for showers, birthdays, corporate gatherings, holiday parties, and all the fall entertaining in between. Each package includes one dip plus up to five selections from any category, with options for gatherings ranging from 5 to 70 guests.

And yes, this is just the beginning. Halloween packages are up next, and Thanksgiving ordering opens next week!

So apparently when your birthday falls on a Saturday, you’re obligated to throw a party… and cater it 💀. I don’t make the rules 🤷🏾‍♀️🤣

Yesterday was a blur in the absolute best way. I got to celebrate my 43rd birthday surrounded by people I love, host one hell of a party, and of course somehow still end up in the kitchen cooking with my favorite partner in crime.

This is just a little behind-the-scenes sneak peek because we have some AMAZING professional photos coming, and judging by what I saw happening behind that camera, I already know they’re about to be insane.

We’re celebrating 7 years of Heights Mercantile Farmers Market AND my birthday, so of course we came BIG.

We’ve got a huge lineup of savory pot pies, alternative munchies, more Pocket Pie flavors than usual, and QUICHE is back.

Cocktail hour Hors d’Oeuvres that deserve a throne 😍

This one was personal.

This weekend, I had the honor of creating the hors d’oeuvres experience for my sister and brother-in-law’s 25th vow renewal, and after 25 years, they deserved something really special.

From Ginger Miso Chilean Sea Bass on Crispy Rice and Roasted Apricot, Duck Prosciutto & Whipped Ricotta Crostini to Petite Crab Cakes on Caramelized Plantain and Mini Lobster Rolls, every bite was chosen and created specifically for their celebration.

Twenty-five years of love deserved more than a simple spread. It deserved a moment 💕

And getting to create that moment for and with my sister made this one even sweeter 🥂

We have no remaining availability for Hors d’Oeuvres Catering Packages or On-Site events for the entire month.

A huge thank you to everyone who trusted Miya’s Munchies with your celebrations, gatherings and events. September is going to be a busy one, and we’re incredibly grateful for it.

One more scheduling note: we will NOT be at any markets the weekend of September 19th, as we’ll be catering an out-of-town event. We will be present for all other markets.

If you’re considering us for October, November or the holiday season, now is definitely the time to get on our calendar!

Khaliq is off to Vegas for his first time with his closest friends since grade school ✈️

Which means I’ve officially been left unsupervised.

So if the pot pies taste a little different this week, blame him 😂

In all seriousness, one of my goals this year has been to show a little more of the people behind Miya’s Munchies. Most days, that’s the two of us somewhere between a ridiculous amount of butter and catering chaos.

Enjoy Vegas, kid, you’ve earned it. I’ll try not to burn the business down while you’re gone🤞🏾

Every Celebration of Life we’ve catered has been for someone we didn’t personally know. But without fail, by the end of the celebration, we feel like we’ve come to know them through the stories shared and the incredible amount of love always present in the room.

This one was different.

I lost a friend, but more importantly, my best friend lost her younger brother. Our hearts are broken.

Still, I’m so grateful and honored that we were able to celebrate Bobby’s beautiful life in one of the ways we know best, with a room full of love from all over the world, and some of his favorite Munchies 🤍
