We really appreciate the outpouring of support you all showed us last night. The phone was ringing off the hook, people crowded the dining room, it was truly touching to see the love people have for us. That being said, it was an utter disaster for anyone looking for food made right and on time, as we were totally unprepared for what was to come. Many people were disappointed and expressed their disappointment to us and that's not really how we want to end our relationship with you guys. We really can't keep up that same pace for the next few days. So going forward, we've made some difficult decisions which may lead to some understandable disappointment, but we have to make these changes now to temper some expectations.
1) No delivery after 4pm. The rush of delivery orders on top of the many orders we were getting for pickup led door dash to abandon a few of our orders here as nothing could be made on time. This is a disappointing experience both for us and the customers which we will avoid repeating.
2) Rewards points deactivated. My motto has always been that "loyalty pays" and many of you over the years have benefitted from (as have we) the generosity of this promotion. However, 15% of last night's sales were paid in what basically amounts to fairy dust. We honestly can't afford to keep that going. We completely understand any backlash we get from this decision, but at this time it's the right one.
3) Order limitations. We're only able to do so much with the limited amount of staff we have left, and many of us aren't as young as we once were. So we will be encouraging pre orders and letting you know when slots fill up
4) Online order limitations. Online ordering will be taken offline periodically as the rush becomes too intense, which may become all of Friday and Saturday
5) Limited Motor City Availability. The dough for this pizza is finicky and requires some time to properly mature, so there's not much we can do to provide as many as there is a desire for.
I wish I could just let everyone have what they want, but we are not capable and would rather have a peaceful transition out then just have a terrible experience for everyone. I hope you understand and I look forward to serving many of you our last few pizzas
