SAFE Communities We are dedicated to ensuring students, K-college, have opportunities to successfully pursue higher education and achieve their full potential.

Mission Statement
We honor our youth and their families for all of their unique differences and characteristics. We also respect each person for who they are by celebrating the importance of advocating for diversity inclusion and equity throughout our communities. Our Goal
Our goal is to bring all organizations and our communities together to walk and celebrate diversity and inclusion the first w

eek in October “National Diversity Week” that will benefit saving one life at a time in our communities. We invite the entire community to take part in our walk helping to collect nonperishable food item for the Houston Food Bank that will feed the homeless that is growing rapidly in our communities. In addition, we will be collecting unwrapped toys for needy children ages 14 and under for the Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s 25th Annual Mega Christmas Party. Our Vision
We are committee to collaborating with different school districts, churches, businesses, corporations, sorority groups and partnering with the National Diversity Council, Texas Diversity Council, Communities in Schools (CIS), Texas Network of Youth Services (TNOYS), YMCA, Hogg Foundation, Transition Age Youth (TAY), Mental Health Agencies, TWC and other organizations to help connect our at-risk high school students with disabilities, their parents and family members with community resources through our Health and Wellness Resource Fair and they will live healthier lives. Community outreach is the key and it will help our families to understand the walk supports diversity education and awareness in our communities. We are “Stronger and Better” when we come together Advocating for Diversity Inclusion Equity.

Tuesday’s Coffee, Tea & Birthday Celebration at the S.A.F.E. 4 Communities office was filled with great energy, meaningful connections, and plenty of reasons to smile. We enjoyed celebrating our birthday honorees, sharing resources, and spending quality time with friends, partners, and community members.

There’s something special about coming together to uplift one another, exchange ideas, and strengthen the bonds that make our community thrive.

Our Mission

The mission of the Environmental Explorers Summer Camp is to inspire children to become curious learners, responsible leaders, and caring stewards of the environment through hands-on educational experiences, STEM activities, literacy enrichment, creative arts, and social-emotional learning.
Throughout our 8-week camp, children will explore topics such as air, water, land, recycling, plants, and environmental conservation while building confidence, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment where every child can discover their potential, make new friendships, and develop a lifelong appreciation for protecting our planet.

Dr. Thelma Scott and family proudly remember the life and legacy of SP4 Otis Clyde Scott, a devoted U.S. Army veteran whose service and love continue to inspire generations. Though he is deeply missed, his memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Five years ago today, Dr. Thelma Scott and Attorney Leona Filis welcomed Ms. Mary Ann to the Embracing Diversity Talk Show for her very first podcast/interview after launching her business to support special needs families. 🌟

Today’s S.A.F.E. Communities Podcast sparked some very deep and important conversations surrounding voting rights, new voting law changes, and how these changes could impact communities across the country. 🗳️✨

Our guests spoke passionately about the importance of staying informed, educated, and engaged — especially regarding birth certificate law changes and the challenges some families may face when it comes to voting access and identification requirements. These conversations are necessary because every voice matters, and understanding the laws that affect our communities is the first step toward advocacy and empowerment.

Novella shared her inspiring journey and spoke about how her therapy services are helping children and adults with dyslexia gain confidence, improve learning skills, and overcome challenges many people do not fully understand. She also shared how watching her mother teach all 6 of her children in a special education classroom opened her eyes at a young age and gave her a deeper understanding, compassion, and passion for helping others.
