Some old school Bottomless Pit memories…
Rumor has it the “no survivors” sign was from around 1984. The team members had one heck of a party in the Astrodome parking lot in their 1 spot. Had so much fun they had 8 inches of beer cans in the booth, they didn’t clean up that night from having so much of a good time. Some nice folks decided to give them a hand and help them clean up the tent. As the legend goes no one was sure if the boys would be back for the next night of the cookoff. But, in true bottomless pit style… they showed back up! And in the words of Robert Earl Keen. “The road goes on forever and the party never ends” 🤣🙌🏻
If you look at the invitations from the 80’s you’ll see the team wanted everyone to wear Boots n britches, we will assume tops were optional. 🤣🤣
