El Paraiso Mexican Restaurant El Paraiso has re-opened and moved about 10 minutes away from the original Montrose location. Smaller spot, hence name has changed to El Paraiso Mexican Cafe😉.

Same menu and still close to downtown, Montrose, and Heights!!!

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elena Leal, founder of “El Paraiso”, established in 1978. Elena lived to be almost 92 years old and is also the mother of current El Paraiso owner Maria “Betty” Torres. Betty and her sister Sandra L. Cruz helped their mother run this Montrose-area restaurant from the very beginning.
In late 1981, Elena sold the original Paraiso on Crocker St. to current owners, Betty and son-in-law Roberto, and mentored them throughout the years. A business woman in every sense, she will be greatly missed. 🕊️
