What a full-circle Houston moment 🤘🔥 J-Bar-M presents the Official All Hands In Day Proclamation to Mr. Toomey!

Mr. John Toomey was born in Minneapolis but made his way to Houston in 1930. He graduated from the University of Houston with both a business and law degree in 1951, and served as a Corporal in the Texas Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force.

The recognized J-Bar-M is named for John and his late wife Michelene but it isn’t his first venture. From the Greenroom to Houlahan’s, Mr. Toomey helped shape Houston’s restaurant business scene, and through it all, Houston shaped him right back. All Hands In Day reflects that shared spirit.

WHEREAS, on February 28, 2026, J-Bar-M Barbecue will host All Hands In Day, a community-centered event aligned with its 2026 mission statement that celebrates unity, collaboration, and the diverse individuals and cultures that make Houston home; and
