18 years for a small, independent business is impressive!
Today we see big corporate coffee chains adding new locations by the dozens each month. These corporate chains pay significantly less for coffee beans than small independent cafes because of their purchasing power and economies of scale. They also often use a lower quality coffee, yet their prices do not reflect this. Independent shops sometimes struggle to compete with chains on price, because their lower volumes mean they often cannot achieve the same low cost of goods as large corporations.
With this, supporting and keeping our local, independent coffee shops going is very important! I am so grateful for the support of our loyal customers and our growing customer base, our supportive community, and the love we receive here at Barista's. Because of you we are keeping Barista's a staple in our small town. I am beyond grateful to keep our doors open every day, to keep greeting new customers each week. I feel grateful to offer job opportunities to our young community members, grateful to offer a cozy place for meeting a friend, we love to brighten your day!
Keep showing up, keep sharing, let's keep our lovely little shop thriving! Because when times are tough and uncertainty is not going anywhere anytime soon we need cozy, welcoming little coffee shops more than ever!
