So I guess there is no easy way to put this…
We are closing Grannys Kitchen after almost 17 years. The owner of our building and 13 other buildings he owns, is selling out after 100 years of family business. Granny’s has been in business, downtown, across from Bath House Row for over 40 years … we are sad to go but more mad than that… some on the block (same owner) are staying… I think things have been in the works for a while with them… BUUUTT!!!
Anyway… we will be closing out and selling most of our decor and equipment through the month of October… equipment will be the last to go, as we will still be cooking as long as we can…
We have enjoyed our locals who support us at Granny’s Kitchen and the tourists who come back year after year and are so happy we’re still here!! And the customers who come in daily and say “we’ve been here a week (or several days), and this is the best food we’ve had since we’ve been in Hot Springs!” You don’t know how good that makes me feel… so many people (local) are negative, since we aren’t the hip, modern restaurant that they want us to represent downtown… our food says it all… we made the Washington Post a few years ago as 1 of 2 places to eat while in Hot Springs, Arkansas… and they said eat here first!!! Have won 1 place competition and people’s choice awards, so, I feel we’ve done everything right. Cant help but feel slighted …
The good thing is we have another restaurant on the other side of town… we’ve been there 18 years and it’s a great location and we have locals and race track folks, from the owners, jockeys, 🏇 Hot walkers and trackers!!!
Anyway, catering and the Holiday will keep us busy and maybe I won’t think about it…
Thank you to all of you who have supported us through the years… you’ve made a huge impact on our lives… 🫶🏼🤍🤍🤍
