Goodmorning all of my people π
It's been a while since I've posted here, and some of my loyal supporters know what's going on, but many don't, so I figured I would take today to let everyone know what is happening on my end.
Our very first day opening, I almost had no clue what I was doing. I knew how to cook the food and how to smile, it felt like every turn I was missing something, and every day was truly a new experience. I went from a simple "back of house guy", to the face of everything, which was the hardest transition I've ever made in my life. But, I managed it. From sun up to sun down I worked hard to make my dream a reality and I did. I poured my blood, tears, and an alarming amount of sweat into it (both summers were so brutal yall π°).
But it doesn't matter how hard I worked, I'm the business owner, that's what I'm supposed to do. I couldn't have done it without the love and support of all my awesome patrons. So for that, I love all of you guys.
With that being said, I've had so many nights I've asked myself if this is what I want. Nights I've prayed alone, spilled tears, and asked for some kind of guidance in helping me figure out what my next step is, and I think the answer to that question lies in what I truly believe is my passion. To cook, lead, and be a bigger part of something. And since I've started at Cajun Boilers, I've had nothing but that, and from the bottom of my heart I have enjoyed every minute of it and have felt at home since day 1.
So, what does that mean for Dyl's Place?
Yesterday, I sold the trailer to a local family, and once they get their permits and name for their business going and get ready to open, I will make a second announcement. As far as I know, they do plan on changing a few things, and keeping the trailer at our same location for a bit, but I will be there to guide them along, show them a few things, and keep some familiar flavors going that you all love. So definitely keep an eye open for a little shoutout to the new owners when that happens π
Thankyou, from the bottom of my heart every single person who has came out and supported us along this journey. This has taught me so much, and it was definitely fun starting from nothing and turning it into something amazing.
Till next time
-Dyl
