As I sit here and write this my heart is broken, completely broken. A man, such a strong man, has passed away and it breaks my soul. Mr. Larry Stancil, what a man you were!
One thing that strikes me, one thing I’ll never forget is this: when mama was released from the hospital you and Ms. Shelby were the first ones to come see her! You got to the house only moments after she did! You wanted her to know how much you cared, how much you loved her, how much you supported her right then and there! Tears streaked down your face as you kneeled down to grab my mamas hand, kiss her head and tell her how much you loved her. She loved you just the same! I know she and daddy were waiting for you with their arms opened wide! I envy you Mr. Larry. I truly do! I can only imagine the party everyone had as the day you joined the angels was also mama’s birthday! That makes smile though, just to try to imagine what that celebration was like… for all those who were there welcoming you in! I know it was amazing!
I also know I’m going to miss you. I’m going to miss everything about you! I’ll miss our arguments and those bone cracking hugs! The I love yous, even more so the times you’d tear up when you’d tell me you love me or vice versa. The kisses on the cheek, you squeezing my face! I’ll even miss those 10 ton slaps across the back! I’ll miss your smile and how you combed your hair in the line. And how I’d sometimes find your comb and wonder how many or those things you kept on you lol? I’ll miss how you always wanted a table in the lower dining room, even if it was dirty and we were slammed lol. I’ll miss you telling me “grandma’s slow but she’s old damnit”! I’ll miss us messing with each other and all the stories and laughs those memories bring! Like the time you made me pour tea in your lap🤣 I’ll miss your laugh, your advice, you telling me you’re proud of me! I’ll even miss you calling me big momma🤣 but most of all I’ll miss you, Mr Larry! I’m really going to miss you!
