Well… I guess sometimes the rumors in this town really do work out in your favor. ❤️
For quite some time, we kept hearing the rumors and getting asked, “Are you selling The Hopwood House?” And every time, our answer was NO. Selling wasn’t something we were planning.
But as those rumors made their way around town, they eventually reached Miss Sharon Bittner, and she approached us with an offer we simply couldn’t refuse.
Before making any decisions, it was incredibly important to us to sit down with Sharon and talk about her plans for The Hopwood House. This place means so much more to us than just a business. We love and care deeply about what we have created here, and even more importantly, we care about our wonderful staff. A few of them have been with us since before we even opened our doors, and they have become like family to us.
After talking with Sharon, we felt comfortable knowing that she wants to keep this good thing going and continue what has been built here.
The truth is, Justine and I both need to get back to focusing on our primary businesses. Running multiple businesses has definitely been challenging, and it has taken a lot of time away from our families, our friends, and the people we love. We are a little sad to close this chapter, but we are also excited to have some of that time back.
Over this journey, we have met so many incredible guests who started out as customers and became wonderful friends. That may be one of the things we will cherish most.
To every friend, family member, guest, employee, and member of this community who supported us, encouraged us, ate with us, drank with us, celebrated with us, and helped make The Hopwood House what it is today—thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We truly hope you will continue to support The Hopwood House and Sharon as she begins this next chapter. We know we certainly will! We love the amazing food and drinks just as much as all of you do—and we still say they’re the best around!
For now, it’s still business as usual! We will continue to own and operate The Hopwood House while the liquor license transfer is being completed. So you’ll still see us around, and we look forward to enjoying this time with all of you as we work through the transition.
This is definitely bittersweet, but we are so grateful for the memories, friendships, laughter, crazy nights, special events, and every moment in between.
