Inspiration comes in many forms. Our childhood. Our travels. Our experience. I still remember sitting in our neighborhood diner in the Bay Area of California with my Father after not seeing him for 8 years. I remember how I felt after watching W***y Wonka. I remember securing a date with a girl because I made her a cheesecake.

In the military we traveled the world, many times over, and tasted food from different cultures.

I also love to read cookbooks, and stories about our industry. I learn so much from them. The Benny sauce we use on our no cap wrap is inspired by a recipe from a Kentucky Catering Cook in the early 1900s. Thank you Jennie Carter!!

In the Military we were taught that “Leaders are Readers”. You want to get better at your craft, better dive into those books. These are some of my favorite cookbooks/inspirational books I look to for guidance and hold dear to my heart.

There are no new recipes, only renditions of old ones. So we are the rendition seekers.
