We can't thank you enough for believing in us and chipping in to help us raise the necessary funds to buy equipment and furniture and improve our new restaurant space at 606 Oak St. in downtown Hood River.

This photo shows how we make fresh, handmade tortillas at our restaurant – one by one.

If we reach our Kickstarter stretch goal of an additional $7000, we will be able to purchase a tortilla machine. This would allow us to scale up our tortilla production and sell fresh, homemade tortillas at our new space in downtown Hood River. Wouldn't that be exciting???

This is Ron, our very dear friend. Ron has lived in our community for many years. He is a talented artist, a writer, an animal lover and a hard worker. And, he has experienced homelessness, which is especially hard this time of year.

Ron is the inspiration behind our Lake Taco Wooden Tokens program. At our new restaurant, you will be able to buy meal tokens that you can gift to anyone. Then, they can come into Lake Taco to redeem their token and receive a wam, home-cooked meal.

If you've already pledged to support our Kickstarter campaign, you can now log in and select a new "add-on" called Lake Taco Tokens. Pledge $50 and you'll get two meal tokens that you can give away. If you haven't yet joined our campaign, it's not too late! The campaign runs until Wed., Dec. 7th.

Today we reached 100% of our funding goal of $40,000!

We cannot tell you how much this means to us. We are so excited to get up and running at our new location in downtown Hood River. Since we launched our Kickstarter, we never doubted we would reach our goal because we know how united and supportive our community is. Thank you!!!

We have two weeks left in our Kickstarter campaign. So, today we are also launching a stretch goal of $7,000. If we make our stretch goal, we will be able to buy the special equipment we need to get our tortilleria up and running.

We want to be absolutely clear: our project is funded (thank you!). This additional stretch goal is a way for us to shoot for the stars.

Starting a tortilleria from our new restaurant will allow us to sell fresh, homemade tortillas to customers for use in their own kitchens. You can go to our campaign and select the $25 "add-on" to any pledge and receive two bags of fresh, handmade tortillas.
