Hi everyone,
Wow wow wow. Thank you, to each and every person that has come out and shown their support. We have just a few more days of service left before closing our only location. Saying goodbye to Kaimuki will not be easy.
We have been extremely busy and it's been so awesome to see. Busier than I've ever seen in our 8 years of operation. The staff has been working super super hard to serve all our dedicated customers. Please tip them to thank the entire crew! We do an equal tip pool & tips are distributed evenly to ALL front and back hourly team members. Chubbies currently employers over 30 people, these people have made our operation possible, serving burgers 7 days a week lunch & dinner. So proud of this team. Please thank them for sticking with us and getting through these crazy final weeks!
The last day of service will be Saturday Feb 1 with special hours: we will be open from 10:00am until 5:00pm or sell out. We definitely hope to be jamming until 5pm, but also it's been hard to predict our volume. We want to give everyone a heads up that we may be sold out of certain items here and there, and on Saturday we may run out of items completely . We have plans to donate any remaining food. But we also have a super quick turnaround from when we serve the last burger on Saturday to when we have to return the keys - literally less than 48 hours.
I wanted to share some old photos of Chubbies Burgers past & present. We have gone through many many phases of business. First a roaming food truck, starting out in 2016. Then we had the truck set up at permanent spot at Ward Village with business hours, for which we had to build out multiple prep spaces to sustain the operation. Few years into that we upgraded the food truck to a bigger food trailer. Then finally, we graduated to a brick & mortar location 3 years ago when we got this space in Kaimuki.
More photos and memories to come.
