Hawaii's rich history has been greatly influenced by the Portuguese. From the first sailors who jumped

ship from 18th and 19th century whaling vessels, to the immigrant plantiation workers of the late 19th and early 20th century, the Portuguese made sure to leave their mark. From Malasadas, to the Braguinha that spawned the iconic Ukelele, the remnants of this rich past are right under our noses. Located in Chinatown, not too far from Kaka'ako (which, believe it or not, used to be a very Portuguese neighborhood), Adega will offer standard Portuguese cuisine, along with a Brazilian buffet and nightly Portuguese activities. A 4am liquor license and full bar will ensure the party doesnt stop early. Doors are tentatively planned to open before Carnival 2012 (Mardis Gras) with a full bar. Shortly thereafter the restaurant portion should open. Feel free to post any questions on our wall, or leave any comments and suggestions. Adega plans to be the focal point of the Hawaiian Portuguese community.
