- Prior to that Joey opened Chart House in Aspen 1961 and Chart House Newport Beach in 1963 with a partner
- Joey was also well known in the surfing community as a renowned surfer since the 1960s and had the privilege to be on Duke Kahanamoku’s surf team
- Over the last 53 years, Joey has curated the Chart House Waikiki menu with ingredients and

offerings from Hawaii and abroad such as Ted Turner’s bison prime filets from Montana, Fresh Oysters, and Island Olive Oil's Mango Infused White Balsamic dresses the Joey's Arugula Salad

Waikiki features a free fireworks show every Friday night hosted by the Hilton Hawaiian Village, starting around 7:45 PM.

The 10-minute show launches from a barge off Duke Kahanamoku Beach, and can be viewed from the Iconic .
