SENIOR SUNDAYS:

There’s an older woman who comes to my restaurant. She’s a wonderful storyteller, and whenever she visits, she surprises me with a fact I didn’t know. That comes with wisdom—the many years she’s spent on this earth. Her eyes are soft and knowing. She sees things with a kind of distance and familiarity that’s rare in those who are young.

And yet, when she orders from our menu, I can sense a hesitation that comes more from circumstance than choice. She’s a senior, and her income is limited. It breaks my heart that she has to feel that way.

So starting this Sunday, I’d like to invite all seniors to our restaurant. I’d love to offer 25% off your meal. It’s my way of saying thank you. You represent a time, a generation, a people who built the community I love so much. 💕
