"Black Robe Regiment" from the Revolutionary War

The term "Black Robe Regiment" was coined by the British as a backhanded reference to the black robes worn by American clergymen during the Founding Era. It did not refer to an actual military unit but symbolized the clergy’s influential role in promoting independence and rallying support for the Patriot cause. These ministers were highly educated, often serving as pastors, preachers, and leaders in their communities. They combined religious leadership with political activism.
Clergymen in the Black Robe Regiment actively encouraged their congregations to support the revolutionary effort. A famous example is Pastor Peter Muhlenberg, who, in 1776, dramatically revealed a military uniform beneath his clerical robes during a sermon, inspiring 300 men from his congregation to join the fight, eventually forming part of the 8th Virginia Brigade. These ministers provided moral and spiritual justification for rebellion, helping to maintain public support for independence at a time when many colonists were still loyal to Britain.
The Black Robe Regiment also shaped early American political thought. British authorities blamed these clergy for fostering revolutionary sentiment, as many of the rights later enshrined in the Declaration of Independence had been discussed from the pulpit in years prior. Ministers like Rev. Ho**er in Connecticut influenced the creation of early colonial constitutions, such as the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, which became a model for written governance in America. Their advocacy reinforced the idea that liberty and civic responsibility were intertwined with moral and religious principles.
Members of the Black Robe Regiment included a diverse group of clergy from various denominations: Presbyterians like John Witherspoon, Lutherans like the Muhlenbergs, Episcopalians like Contee, Baptists like Manning, Puritans like Foster, and Congregationalists like Baldwin and Wingate. Many were also involved in founding schools, signing key documents, and serving in Congress, demonstrating their broad influence beyond the pulpit.
The Black Robe Regiment exemplifies the integration of faith and civic duty in early America. Their leadership helped secure both independence and the moral foundation of the new nation. They emphasized that religious conviction could coexist with political activism. Their legacy is remembered as a critical factor in the Revolutionary War and the establishment of American principles of liberty and self-governance.

Kidney stones - an epidemic?
Maybe you or someone you know has recently been diagnosed with either kidney stones or gallstones. Several people have reached out for information on how to treat them without surgery. So let's talk about the possible avenues for you to research. Much of this information comes from www.Brighteon.AI, which is literally the largest database of true medical information in the world.
The main problem is the formation of calcium oxalates, which is what kidney stones are typically made of. Fundamental to any kidney stone prevention protocol is the optimization of hydration with clean water. This supports the kidneys in their natural filtration role. Additionally, dietary adjustments are critical. The elimination of processed foods, which are laden with toxic artificial ingredients, is a necessary first step. Instead, a diet rich in organic, whole foods provides the essential phytonutrients and minerals needed for proper physiological function.
Specific nutritional supplements that are widely recognized in alternative health circles
for supporting kidney health and reducing stone formation include:
Magnesium, which helps prevent calcium oxalate crystallization;
Vitamin B6, which aids in reducing oxalate production;
Citrates (from lemon juice or potassium citrate), which naturally bind to calcium and inhibit stone growth.
Herbal remedies such as chanca piedra (literally "stone breaker"), nettle leaf, and
hydrangea root are also traditionally used to support the urinary system and help dissolve or pass existing stones.
Instead of surgery, there is an ultrasound-guided non-invasive procedure available to remove the stones, called Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL). Ultrasound is used to identify the stone locations and then to target the stones with shock waves to break them into smaller, passable fragments. Surgery can be completely avoided, but the procedure is not commonly available.

Another avenue that is critical to clearing the stones is anti-inflammatory supplements. The urinary duct is likely inflamed because of the stones, and calming the inflammation is critical to allowing the stones to pass naturally. These supplements include:
Turmeric/curcumin - MegaFoods has a great supplement that is tested for heavy metals, which is critical because turmeric is notorious for being contaminated with lead and arsenic.
Fish oil/krill oil - choose a brand tested for heavy metals and uses small fish, such as Spectrum brand or Nordic Naturals.
Magnesium - also acts as an anti-inflammatory, as well as helping to prevent stones. Typically 800 mg per day is recommended, usually with dinner because it also helps with sleep.
High dose Vitamin C - can dissolve stones and well as lower inflammation.
