Not all single-origin coffees are microlots and that distinction matters. ☕
A microlot is more than a small amount of coffee. It’s a deliberately separated lot that gives us a closer look at exactly where a coffee came from, how it was produced, and what makes it unique.
From producer and farm to elevation, variety, processing method, harvest and cup profile, microlots give roasters a deeper level of traceability while allowing exceptional coffees with distinct characteristics to stand on their own.
For us, that’s also where relationships come in. Sourcing microlots often means working closely with producers, understanding their processes, and identifying coffees that deserve to be kept separate rather than blended into a larger lot.
