🌧️ RECENT RAIN COULD BE GOOD NEWS FOR BARTON COUNTY BIRD HUNTERS! 🦆🦃

The recent moisture around Barton County has hunters watching the fields—and for good reason.

Rain can help improve grass and cover, increase insect availability for young birds, and create or refill water sources that can become important for migrating ducks. Kansas wildlife officials say rainfall and habitat conditions can play a major role in upland bird production.

That doesn't guarantee a bumper 2026 season, but it gives us something to be optimistic about. 👀

💧 More water for migrating ducks
🌽 Food sources

Kansas' 2026-27 duck season begins October 10 in the High Plains Unit.
