Origin of the name and flavor per Kelsea:

“Growing up in the south with a very Italian American dad from Long Island was a funny experience. I always crack up at the way my southern grandma, in a classic drawl, used to pronounce Italian as Eyeee-Italian, and thought my dad made us pasta for every meal. One of my favorite memories of visiting NYC as a kid was visiting Ferrara’s in Little Italy and chowing down on Italian Rainbow cookies. Combine those with chocolate ice cream and raspberry jam, and wa-la!”

We had a great time with the Kelsea family at our DIY class, and was great to have the full family help in spinning back a flavor made during class. Their 9 mo old Leo even tried his first ice cream scoop straight from the machine. Hope to have more families come out and help with a family flavor!

This FREE SCOOP Friday… Dubai Chocolate!

*Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Base

We’ll have a limited supply of this flavor for free scoop Friday at . Flavors are free to grab from the Mario’s freezer while supplies last. And of course support the best neighborhood pizza spot. We also have some new adult and kids DIY classes posted to our site for 2/22.

Production notes:
I don’t usually follow hype, but as someone that grew up working in a chocolate store, I do respect this viral treat. The crunchy strips of kafayif (phyllo) give a Rice Krispie style crunch that goes well with the pistachio and chocolate. I debated a few times whether it should be a chocolate or pistachio base, and ultimately landed on chocolate. It’s an intricate flavor to create, and for v2 of this, I’ll swirl more of the chocolate kafayif Stracciatella so you can get the crunch throughout the pint. Either way, one of the best flavors I think I’ve made to date!

Come grab one today or tomorrow from the Marios freezer. We didn’t get a chance to spin up many pints of these flavors this year, nor were ready for easy distribution of it. But still wanted to give you a chance to enjoy and say thank you!

we wish you a happy holidays, happy new year, and thank you for your continued support! We love serving ice cream to this community, and the people and relationships we’ve made through Moo J is by far our favorite part of operating.

Ice Cream class has been incredibly fun and we’re excited to add 3 more December dates to the calendar. We’re doing everything we can to add more dates and are looking at ways to continue to expand the experience!

WE’RE BACK (and with some news)

Thanks to the incredible custom cookie makers forcupsakesnyc - we have a new potential lease of life. Best yet, production will be based out of the Monroe Center Hoboken. I’ve long wanted to bring ice cream production here, both for logistical reasons as well as to be able to extend the joy of making ice cream with the Hoboken community.

What’s New:

*ice cream making classes and birthday parties for all ages
*pick up pints any weekday 10-5 from in the Monroe Center (delivery details working out)
*ice cream shop hours on the weekends after kids classes
*host private events
*new flavors brought to you by locals (just drop me a message)

Hopefully you come to think of this as the ‘community ice cream machine’. This is all of course an experiment again, but thus far reception has been very positive. Starting Monday, you’ll be able to pick up Cookies and Cream and Cookies and Coffee time + a new flavor I’m hoping to finish as I write this post.

Oreo Cookies are blend into our small batch 14% butterfat base at 3%, and then Oreo Cookie are spread heavily throughout at 18%, ensuring a crunch with every big bite.

Just dropped a batch @ Prime On Bloom, and as of late last night, there is still about 14 left on the shelf. A heads up that pints move on the shelf much faster than they used to. We dropped 42 yesterday at noon and were down to just 18 only 7-8 hours later. It used to take a couple weeks to move that many. Don’t delay!

Tomorrow we’ll be delivering some of our delicious pints to your front door - just order your favorites using the link in our bio! 🍦 We’ll also be selling scoops at Hoboken’s ‘Movies Under the Stars’, with tomorrow’s showing of ‘Chicago’ (so long as the weather permits)!

On Thursday we’ll either be posted up on the outskirts of the St. Ann’s Italian festival or by Maxwell Place Park (don’t worry, we’ll let you know which 😉)

And this Friday we’ll be on 7th and Jefferson to enjoy the Italian festival with the rest of Hoboken! We’ll also be doing our Frozen Friday on-demand deliveries that night, so if you’ve got a craving, we’ve got you covered :)

Hello from the world of Moo Jersey! We’ve got a packed post, so I’ll get right into it:

We’ve shifted our cart schedule to weekend and weekday posts! We’ll be updating where we’ll be both during the week and during the weekend in the hopes of seeing you guys more often 🍦

Today and tomorrow we’ll be on the waterfront by Maxwell Place Park from 5:30-9:30pm! We’re likely going to have scoops of Blueberry Pie, Malted w/ Whoppers, and more 🤤

We’ll also be introducing Frozen Fridays today, a new installment in our delivery service where we provide On-Demand delivery to you! If you order within today’s window of 5-9pm, we’ll deliver pints of your favorite flavors to your door :) (And we’re attempting to expand our reach to you folks in the Heights and Union City as well - yay! 🥳) You can order through the link in our story or in our bio 🔗

Hey all! Grazing in with this week’s cart schedule 🐄

Tomorrow we’ll be out by Sinatra Park Amphitheater for the 2024 Hoboken My Way Sinatra Sing-Off! Come vote for your favorite Frank and grab an ice cream while you’re at it 🎤

On Friday we’ll be celebrating World Music Day with from 4pm to 6pm! This is an event for all, so expect a friendly and festive atmosphere, live musicians, and (of course) some fantastic Moo Jersey ice cream 😋

On Saturday our cart will be set up at our classic home base, Maxwell Place Park, from 4pm to 8:30pm - don’t miss us! 🍦

And on Sunday morning, we’ll be at for our third week in a row 🌾 Stop by to support local!
