My name is Lisa J Bernstein, but most everyone in my life calls me “Bernie.” The Purple Cow is the culmination of over 26 years of dedicated work in Hilton Head’s food and beverage community and a homage to my Mother who passed away in 2013. Having always been a believer that you should love what you do, I decided to turn my passion for baking into a business. A side venture baking cheesecakes has

In 2008 I began cooking perfect bite-sized cheesecakes called “Baby Cakes.” Using only the finest ingredients, you can always count on a variety of delicious flavors and the bite size makes them perfect for sampling. Featured here at The Purple Cow, you’ll find Baby Cakes are also offered at over 20 local restaurants. A Purple Cow is a Doris Day song that our Mom would sing to us almost up until the day she passed away. She was the best person I ever knew and truly was my best friend. In honor of her, The Purple Cow was born!

It is time for The Purple Cow Sweets Sixteen!

We are bringing the fun of March Madness to the bakery. Your favorite sweets are going head-to-head, and you get to decide the winner!

✨How to play✨
Stop by to grab a printed bracket or screenshot the posted bracket and fill it out. Hand in your completed bracket or send it to [email protected] by 5:00pm on March 25.

Make sure to answer the tie breaker question, how many chocolate chips are in the jar?

Anyone can play, you do not have to live on the island to play!

✨How to win✨
Each correct pick gets you points. The bracket with the most total points at the end of the competition is the winner!

Sweet Sixteen - 4 points per correct pick
Elite Eight - 8 points per correct pick
Final Four - 16 points per correct pick
Championship - 32 points per correct pick

If a tie breaker is necessary the bracket with the closest guess to the number of chocolate chips in the jar is the winner!

The winner gets to pick from a $50 gift certificate to The Purple Cow or a 6” cake. The prize will be valid for a year!

✨How it works✨
The competition is similar to the March Madness but with different game dates. Each game is a battle between two sweets and the sweet with the most sales that day moves on to the next round.

Sweet Sixteen
Thursday, March 26 - 8 sweets (left side)
Friday, March 27 - 8 sweets (right side)

Elite Eight
Saturday, March 28 - 8 sweets

Final Four
Friday, April 3 - 4 sweets

Championship
Saturday, April 4 - 2 sweets

The winners will advance as the games move on, until one sweet wins it all!
