Hello everyone, this is Cathy Mathenia. For those that don’t know me, I am Kyle’s wife and Mindy’s daughter-in-law. I am the administrator to Mindy’s estate. Kyle and Bryan have been struggling with what to do with the restaurant and adjoining lot. It has not been an easy decision, they grew up there and feel a great connection to the community and their mom when they are there. It is with deep regrets that we need to announce, we will be unable to reopen Park N Eat. We know Hillsboro and surrounding communities loved the restaurant, Mindy, her family, and staff. It has been a staple for over 35 years and we know it is greatly missed. We are just not in positions to step away from our own careers to give it the attention it would require and deserve. We would love for someone to create another diner in its place.
With all this being said, anyone interested in buying, please send a letter of intent to me. I will discuss all letters with Bryan and Kyle and respond. Please include all contact information, any questions and offers. The property is 3/4 of the block it sits on, it includes the lot the building is on and the adjoining lots that run along RT 16 from Dearborn street to the Caseys parking lot. I have edited a photo to try to show the general property lines. This is a prime location right off the highway with ample room to expand for any prospective business. It is zoned commercial. If the interested party would want to open up a similar diner we can put you contact with the vendors Mindy used. Please serious inquiries only. Mail to: Park N Eat c/o Cathy Mathenia PO Box 194 Butler, IL 62015
Thank you all again for the many kind words, thoughts, and prayers over the last few months.
Please feel free to share this post.
