To our Hilliard community:
We usually keep our page focused on good food, cold drinks, and Buckeyes games, but with wild rumors floating around local Facebook groups, I want to set the record straight directly about what actually happened Saturday night.
We’ve reviewed both our security camera footage and the video posted publicly on Facebook. Was the guest in question standing a little too close enjoying the music originally? Maybe—the whole room was full of families and kids dancing along to the song, swaying back and forth, and enjoying the moment. But the video proof clearly shows that when the mom asked her, "Can you not?", she politely said "sorry," walked back to a table, and cheered the kids on. She kept her distance from then on.
You simply cannot cross our room after the fact to aggressively confront another guest, threaten a physical fight, yell vulgar insults in front of children, and expect us to sit back and do nothing. Despite the interaction already being over, he chose to escalate the entire room, make demeaning comments and slurs, and try to walk out without paying his tab.
When someone creates that kind of disturbance in a room full of families, my team and I are going to step in every single time. Our staff and regular patrons did the right thing by putting a stop to that behavior.
Wilson’s will always be a place where local families can enjoy an evening with friends without dealing with threats or drama. We won’t apologize for protecting our guests, enforcing safety, or holding people accountable.
Thank you to all of our Hilliard neighbors who continue to support us every week.
