Originally from Chicago, her passion for cooking has taken her from Auburn to Atlanta, until settling her roots down with us here in Highlands.

What excites her most about Oak is the opportunity to let her creativity thrive by connecting with the Highlands community, collaborating with fellow chefs, and ensuring our menu changes with the seasons.

Outside the kitchen, Chef Markie is an adventurer at heart — you can find Chef traveling with her husband, exploring hidden gems, or enjoying a concert.

It's the perfect trio to enjoy with good company and a great view.

The burrata provides the perfect light bite with peach panzanella, crispy prosciutto, and basil oil.

The chicken schnitzel is savory and fresh with compressed mixed melon, mint, mozzarella pearls, and chili lime salt.

Finally, the bone-in pork chop takes a grilled chicory salad, blistered grapes, and oat crumble and combines with an irresistible honey, sumac vinaigrette.
