The summer party is almost over. π³
The days are getting shorter. Yesterday marked the midpoint between the summer solstice and autumn equinox. Mums are starting to bloom. Halloween merch is showing up in stores.
Change is in the air! And it's nearly back-to-school time.
This transitional moment is the perfect time to explore nature, just starting to take on an autumnal golden hue. But we don't want to rush the season!
For this biweekly coffee walk, we're following the High Point Greenway (High Point Parks & Recreation,). We walked through one of our favorite sections that passes through the High Point University campus. We compare previous fall shots with a similar view now, in late summer. Which do you prefer?
There's always construction on campus. Spot the new eternal flame sculpture in front of the Waneck Center and American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame. And the new library under construction behind the welcome sign and panther statue.
Park near the campus, such as close to the beginning of the HP Greenway at Armstrong Park. You can easily walk, run, cycle, dog walk or stroll with a toddler through this lovely, wooded section of the Greenway. It's gated, but open year-round, from sunrise to sunset. It's so quiet, you may hardly notice the adjacent bustling campus.
DeBeen HP is a few miles away. Grab your coffee and explore! Observe the change of seasons! If you bring something to eat, there are benches to relax and bins to dispose of cups and trash.
