After much debate, passionate opinions, a few broken hearts, and what can only be described as The Great Angus French Fry Controversy…

CRINKLE-CUT FRIES HAVE OFFICIALLY MADE THEIR RETURN TO THE ANGUS. 🙌🏼🍟

When we made the switch, y’all had THOUGHTS. 😂 Some of you pleaded your case. Some stood firmly on Team Steak Fry. Others made it very clear that life at The Angus simply wasn’t the same without those crispy little crinkles.

Well… the people have spoken, and we listened.

So consider this your official invitation to come out this weekend and reunite with an old favorite. Grab some great food, get your long-awaited crinkle-cut fry fix, and stick around for live music from Philip Page. 🎶

🎶 PHILLIP PAGE IS BACK THIS FRIDAY — AND IT’S ALWAYS A GOOD NIGHT WHEN HE’S ON OUR STAGE. 🎶

There are some musicians who just fit the Angus, and Phillip Page is absolutely one of them.

Phillip has a way of making a room feel relaxed, welcoming, and worth settling into for a while. His mix of acoustic country, Southern rock, familiar favorites, and heartfelt originals always makes for the kind of Friday night people genuinely enjoy.

But beyond how talented he is, Phillip is also just an incredibly good human being — kind, humble, genuine, and someone we’re always proud to support.

🎶 ONE OF OUR ABSOLUTE CROWD FAVORITES IS BACK THIS FRIDAY — JOSHUA RAY HUDSON! 🎶

We’re always excited to have Joshua Ray Hudson back at The Angus, but this week feels like a good time to remind everyone just how much Josh has been accomplishing outside of our little stage.

Josh is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Casar, North Carolina, with more than 350 songs written, multiple studio albums under his belt, and a sound rooted in real country, folk, and honest storytelling. He’s a three-time Don Gibson Singer/Songwriter Award winner, has appeared nationally on the Lifetime Network, and has shared stages with artists like Travis Tritt, Gene Watson, Lee Ann Womack, and T. Graham Brown.

He also signed a recording deal with New Folk Records, released a new 10-song original album, and continues to build an audience far beyond our area. One of his songs, “That’s Why We Stand,” was chosen as the official theme song for Purple Heart Homes — a cause Josh continues to support through his music and advocacy for veterans.

And through all of that, he still comes back and plays right here at The Angus.

That’s something we’re proud of.

Josh is one of those artists who is genuinely on the rise, and if you’ve ever heard him here before, you already know why. He has the voice, the songwriting, the presence, and the kind of authenticity you can’t fake.

🎶 IT’S BEEN A WHILE — DAVID PORTER RETURNS TO THE ANGUS THIS FRIDAY! 🎶

We’re excited to welcome David Porter back to our stage this Friday, August 7th, for his second appearance at The Angus!

David’s first evening with us gave everyone just a small taste of the experience and talent he brings to a room, and it has been far too long since we’ve had him back. A Lenoir native who now calls Hickory home, David has spent decades performing throughout North Carolina and beyond—and since becoming a full-time musician in 2017, he has played nearly 1,000 live shows.

His solo acoustic sets offer a little something for everyone, blending classic folk rock, pop, country, and original music. With influences like James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, Harry Chapin, and Paul Simon—and a song list of nearly 400 songs played from memory—you never quite know what favorite you may hear next. David also welcomes requests, so come prepared to sing along!

From upbeat, toe-tapping favorites to laid-back ballads, David creates the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a great meal, catch up with friends, and stay awhile.

🎶 IT’S BEEN TOO LONG — CAIDEN SMITH IS BACK, AND THIS TIME HE’S BRINGING A SPECIAL GUEST! 🎶

We’re excited to welcome Caiden Smith back to The Angus this Friday, July 31st—and this time, we’re in for an extra special evening as he’ll be joined by his longtime friend and musical partner, Mitch.

Caiden grew up watching Elvis Presley and fell in love with music from an early age. Based out of Hudson, North Carolina, he brings a crowd-friendly mix of acoustic country and rock covers, along with the kind of easygoing energy that makes for a genuinely fun night out.

Mitch has been playing music for more than 50 years, with a special love for artists like George Jones. Caiden has listened to and looked up to Mitch for nearly his entire life, and for the past two years, the two have had the chance to perform together. They click naturally, feed off the crowd’s energy, and clearly share a connection that only comes from years of admiration, friendship, and music.

It’s been quite a while since we’ve had Caiden back at The Angus, so we know many of you will be just as excited as we are. Our Angus family needs your prayers tonight❤️

Unfortunately, Joshua Ray Hudson won’t be with us this evening due to an unexpected family medical emergency involving his wife, Christina.

Out of respect for their privacy, we won’t share any more than that, but we do want to ask something of this incredible community.

If you’ve ever been blessed by Josh’s music, shared a laugh with him between songs, requested your favorite tune, or simply enjoyed an evening because of the atmosphere he helps create, would you take just a moment today to lift Josh and Christina up?

One of the things we’ve always loved most about the Angus has never just been the food or the music—it’s the people. Time and time again, we’ve watched this community rally around one another through life’s celebrations, heartbreaks, victories, and hardships. It’s one of the things that makes this place feel like so much more than a restaurant.

The truth is, every single one of us is carrying something. Some battles are visible, while others are fought quietly behind closed doors. But when one of us is hurting, we have the opportunity to remind them they don’t have to carry that burden alone.

🍻 What’s one of the most requested additions to our beer selection lately?

Believe it or not… Busch Light.

We’ve always carried a wide variety of domestic, import, and craft beers—nearly 30 different options—so there’s truly something for everyone. But over the past several months, one request has consistently come up…

“Do y’all have Busch Light?”

With Busch Light making quite the comeback (or should we say… Busch Latte 😉), we figured it was time to add it to the lineup.
