Nooo! The Tortilla Factory is closed As of March 1, 2012 the Tortilla Factory will close it's doors :( The Tortilla Factory has been my families "go to" place sine 1976.

My parents began going there when they first moved from Falls Church to Herndon and have been regulars since. I grew up hearing stories of my and my brothers earliest dining experiences there. Him at age one sneaking a taste of the salsa only to begin shreaking at the top of his lungs and myself at age three loudly pointing out to my parents all of the patrons that were drinking adult beverages. G

rowing up the staff never once balked at my parents bringing in McDonalds happy meals for us because we weren't aware of what we were missing. The Tortilla Factory was our place of choice for family birthdays and celebrations as well as a tradition for dinner before our annual Christmas tour of lights. In high school The Tortilla Factory was the ultimate lunch spot or the best place to get a great dinner with friends on a part time job budget. Since then The Tortilla Factory has served as the ultimate fix for a pregnancy craving, the perfect family dinner pick up and a great place to get luch with co-workers. I am beyond sad to see this great locally owned business leave the community. With the closing scheduled in less than two weeks I'm not sure that it can be "saved" but maybe something can be done... relocated, sold, something.

Alexander Dillion says that the tortilla factory sign has now been taken off the building. Nooo! I had held out hope that as long as the sign was still there, perhaps they may come back.

The closest thing to the Tortilla Factory that I have found! Their enchiladas and taco meat were spot on, salsa was very close. Very reminiscent of early TF; just a hole in the wall offering takeout with one small table inside. Only down side (and broke my heart!) was the chili con queso was a fail.
