Fellow food truckers…please READ what’s going on in Goodlettsville:
Update (6/12/26): The food truck restriction was DEFERRED at last night's Board meeting in a 4-1 vote. I voted against the deferral because I wanted to vote against the ordinance itself instead of just postponing it for another meeting. When it comes back up, it will likely have amended language, which I'll be sure to review closely. I'll continue to keep everyone updated. I support our local small businesses and believe any legitimate concerns should be addressed through reasonable policy changes, not broad restrictions.Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak at the meeting, reach out by email, or help spread the word. Local government is strongest when residents are informed, engaged, and involved in the process.

Tomorrow, June 11, 2026, the Goodlettsville Board of Commissioners will consider a proposal that would largely eliminate food truck operations in Goodlettsville except at designated special events like the farmer’s market, holiday celebrations, sporting tournaments, and other community events. This is effectively a citywide ban on food truck operations outside of designated events, including in private parking lots. I cannot support this proposed ordinance as currently drafted.
Food trucks are small businesses. They create jobs, serve our residents, and contribute to the vibrant community we all want to see in Goodlettsville. If there are any legitimate concerns that should be addressed, we should do so through effective policy changes, not a ban.
The meeting starts at 6:30 pm on Thursday June 11, 2026, at Goodlettsville City Hall. The beginning of the meeting has a public comment portion for anyone wishing to speak. In addition, you can also contact the City Commissioners directly with your thoughts (contact info in the comments). If the ordinance passes tomorrow, it will go to a 2nd and final reading in July.
