A Message from Pat’s Owner,
Nick Perioux
When I wrote the first post about my diagnosis, I said I was trusting God with the words and with the outcome. Today, I am grateful to share what God has done.
I want to give all glory and honor to the Lord. In the Bible, it says, “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise” (Jeremiah 17:14). God heard every prayer, guided every doctor, and placed the right people in the right place at the right time.
What many don’t know is how God directed the very first step. Dr. Jodi George originally planned to order an ultrasound on my gallbladder, but at the last moment, he changed the order to my pancreas. If that change hadn’t happened, the cancer would have been much further along. God’s hand was in it.
From there, everything moved fast. Dr. Fontenot performed the biopsy that sent results straight to MD Anderson. The morning of the biopsy, Memorial’s CEO, Devin Hyde, met me personally and made sure I was taken care of. Memorial acted immediately, and MD Anderson brought me in right away. They found tumors on my pancreas and abdomen, but in a very short time, treatment began. And in just eight weeks, they already have me in remission.
To God be the Glory.
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
Psalm 34:19
I also want to thank every person who lifted me in prayer and stood with me. Thousands prayed, sent cards, meals, blankets, prayer cloths, and messages of encouragement. Over 420,000 people saw the first post. That’s not just a number, that’s a wave of prayer. Your prayers mattered. Your faith mattered. God heard you.
Even though the cancer is gone, I still have several months of treatment ahead. I cannot be around large crowds right now, and my body needs time to fully recover. I ask that you continue praying for strength, healing, and endurance. I look forward to the day I can walk back into Pat’s, talk with customers, and shake hands again.
Thank you to MD Anderson, Dr. George, Dr. Fontenot, Memorial Hospital, and every nurse and staff member who helped me. Thank you to our community for your love and support. And thank you to our God, who never left my side.
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
Thank you Jesus!
