We have some bittersweet news to share with you all…
As many of you know, we’re closing our beloved restaurant on December 31st. But before we dive into the details, we just want to take a moment to express our immense love and appreciation for each and every one of you. You are not just our customers; you are FAMILY! 🥰
We’re excited to let you know that we are in contact with new landlords just 1/4 mile north of our previous spot! This is just a step in our journey, and we truly believe that our comeback will be stronger than this setback. 💪
A huge shoutout to our incredible team! 🫶 Your hard work and dedication have helped us maintain a fantastic 4.9 Google rating, and we couldn’t be more proud of you. You’ve shown what it means to put your heart into everything you do! ❤️
Chef Tym, we can’t go without giving you your own recognition. We’ve been friends since 2008 at my first restaurant, LaLa’s, and your first restaurant, Jordano’s, in Helen. We have been working side by side since 2018 back at Bernie’s. We accomplished so many successful dinner services together; we both knew these smash burgers would be a breeze. You bring so much to the table. Your loyalty and friendship are unmatched. Hoochee’s would not be half of what it is if you weren’t involved. I’d do it a million times over by your side. Your consistency and experience are exactly what it takes to be successful in this business.
Tiff… we met at Pink Pig, working for Chris and Lauren. You came over to Hoochee’s to make a little extra cash, and you were a perfect fit. Your hustle and dependability make life at work so much easier than what it was. From perfecting the cheesecake recipe and the crème brûlée until they were the creamiest delights I have experienced since being in NY, no one compares to you. I expect you to work for me in any and all my adventures. ♥️
Kathy, you started as a Hoochee fan and valued customer and ended up being a marvelous piece of the puzzle. It’s been so nice being able to rely on you and have your helping hands diligently stocking our fridge. You have prepped our kitchen, stocked our shelves, run the front and the back by yourself, kept up the dishes, and smiled happily the entire time. I thank you kindly. You will always be Hoochee’s second biggest fan, just behind your husband Brian, our #1 fan!
Last but not least, Beamer. We’ve known of each other since back when I worked at Hofers over 10 years ago. You are our most recent employee, but man did you hit the ground running. Your experience and work ethic were so spot on. I was kicking myself for not getting you on our team years ago. You have jumped right in and picked up our technique so fast. I have kept an eye on you less than any other team member because the trust is there. I see your ability to keep an eye on things just like I would, making sure those burgers are crispy and layered perfectly with the ingredients. You keep cool during the rush and stay busy cleaning as you go. Thank you as well, sir. It will not go unnoticed.
To our valued customers, first of all, the ones who eat with us daily/weekly: I can sincerely say I appreciate your business. You kept us alive when it was slow. You, our locals, have supported Hoochee’s through two winters in Helen, and I know if it weren’t for you, I’d be back at my mom’s house doing chores. Not only have you believed in our product, you’ve told the world about us, which only made us stronger in the end. Winning at this restaurant game wouldn’t be possible without you. Your support means the world to me, and I’ll be thankful for you forever. Please do not hesitate to ask me for a favor, as I will always be in debt to you.
To our customers who travel for hours just to see what the hype is about: We are so thankful we got to showcase our skills, and to hear “this was worth the 5-hour drive” makes us feel so warm inside. It’s a great feeling when strangers leave as friends after a good meal, and then to see you year after year just proves the food really is that good and you can’t find anything like it anywhere. We thank you and appreciate you coming out.
To the customers that haven’t tried Hoochee’s yet, man, you missed something special, and when we reopen in the future, you might want to get on the bandwagon because trust me, there’s going to be a lot of people craving these award winners over here… It’s going to be like Chick-fil-A on Sunday for a lot of you… you’re going to want that Buddha burger and can’t get it… probably end up being cranky all day. (If this actually happens to one of you, I want to hear about it!) You might want to plan to come stuff your face because those cravings are going to kick in after next week.
Through this period, we will keep faith in God that everything happens for a reason, on His time and through His will. 🙏 We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to serve you again soon!
