The Mocha Cafe at the Hayward Adult School The Mocha Cafe Job Transition Program Looking for a place for good coffee? We're open Monday-Friday, 8:30-12:45. Our lattes and mochas our reasonably priced: $2!

The Mocha Cafe is located on the campus of the Hayward Adult School (Old Sunset High School). On top of that, you are helping to support a worthwhile cause: The Mocha Cafe Job Transition Program, which provides valuable vocational training to young adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities. The students operate the Mocha Café, a popular coffee shop on the Hayward Adult School campus. The café provides a full menu of espresso beverages, coffee, tea, as well as snacks and pastries. Students in our program learn how to
• Provide excellent customer service
• Make a variety of beverages to order
• Handle cash transactions
• Order and account for inventory
• Merchandise products
• Stock and clean the café
• Work as a team member
• Develop individual responsibility

Our students are also given the opportunity to work outside the café with local businesses. This program provides employers with students eager to learn new skills at no cost to the employer. Wages and Workman’s Compensation are provided through the Mid-Alameda County SELPA (Special Education Local Provider Agency). Businesses benefit by receiving quality labor. Students benefit by gaining valuable on-the-job training that leads to successful future employment, which in turn benefits the community as a whole.
