Tiger's Department Store and Chinquapin's, located in the heart of downtown Hayesville, NC offer a wide array of modern shopping choices while you step back in time the moment you walk inside. Chinquapin's, which got it's start as a pharmacy in the 1940's is most known for it's original soda fountain that is still in operation. Come in for a hand mixed cherry coke, chocolate malt or vanilla soda. Delicious coffees and Mayfield Ice Cream are also available to suit your taste buds! While enjoying your treat, browse the many gift items available including a wide array of books for all ages, Willow Tree Angels, soaps and body products, Melissa and Doug Toys, Jelly Cat books and plush, home decor, greeting cards and stationary, and much, much more. Displayed throughout the store are many photos and other memorabilia collected throughout the many years of operation. While shopping in Tiger's you will find clothing, shoes, and accessories for men, women, and children including well known brands such as Columbia Sports Wear, Kuhl, Aventura, Levi's, Pendelton, Alfred Dunner, Ruby Rd., Kavu, North River, Silver Jeans, Hatley, Life is Good, Simply Southern, Darn Tough, BlueQ, Smart Wool, Worlds Softest Socks, and New Balance. We also carry a variety of local T-shirts and caps as well as other accessories including jewelry, handbags, scarves, hats, and wallets. Please also remember that we offer tuxedo rentals for your special occasions and we gift wrap free of charge!
