So what do you do on your last Friday before school starts? These wonderful children had a lemonade stand to benefit the Liz Murphy Open Hand Pantry. They weren't thinking of playing in the pool, riding their bikes, planning a sleepover, they were thinking of others. Thinking of those who struggle to put food on the table and raised money for our pantry to purchase the necessary items to help the community.

On behalf of all of the Board, volunteers, and clients, we thank you for your kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness. May you each have a wonderful school year.

I received this message this morning. I've seen lots of requests on FB for school clothing, household items and furniture. The Good Shepherd UMC is hosting their monthly Free Market this Sunday 8/23. Please see their message below for further details.

Hi Friends
Good Shepherd UMC (471 Main St Haverhill MA 01830) will host their monthly FREEmarket this Sunday 8/23. Our service is at 10:30, the luncheon is at 11:30 and shopping in our FREEmarket starts at 12 Noon. We have lots of clothing for all. We received a large lot of beautiful young girls clothing (12 month to 6 years). As always we have other household goods, small furniture and LOTS of books. Everything is FREE! All are welcome to join. Pls share

The Liz Murphy Open Hand Pantry sends a heartfelt congratulations to Dan Butkovich for completing the PMC challenge and raising funds for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. It's Tuesday (7/28) and we open at 4 to serve our Haverhill residents who need a little extra help with groceries. COME ON DOWN. You don't have a car? The busses are running AND they are free. Jump off at Main and Kenoza we are in the basement of the Unitarian Universalist Church. Bring an ID and piece of mail with your complete address.

We have fruits, fresh veggies, frozen meats, eggs, cheese, butter. We also have yogurt, canned fruit, soup, spaghetti sauce, condiments, cake mixes, raisins, shelf milk, oat milk, juice and so much more. We even have a small shelf of nut free food items as well as Gluten free items.

The staff is out of this world awesome! Very kind, compassionate and nonjudgemental.

What are you waiting for, come on down, and leave with two oversized cloth bags bulging with wonderful food.

No one should be going hungry, we are here to serve.

Our freezers, refrigerator, fruit chiller, and fresh vegetable table are stocked to the max just waiting for our current and new clients.

New clients come with your picture ID and a piece of mail for all who live with you and you'll walk out with 2 oversized cloth bags full of wonderful food.

Doors open at 4:00 and close at 7:00. New clients please come before 6:00 so we can process your paperwork and give you ample time to shop.

Haverhill Residents, the price of food, electricity, and gas continues to go up. Heck, everything is going up! If you find you are having a challenging time stretching your paycheck to cover everything, please consider visiting the Liz Murphy Open Hand Pantry.

Our pantry is sponsored by St Gabriel the Archangel Parish (St James and St John the Baptist churches) is here to help. Our pantry supports Haverhill Residents. You do not have to be on Food Stamps to visit the pantry.

We have canned fruits, veggies, tuna, soups, pasta sauces, peanut butter, juice, milk, cake mixes, condiments, dry beans, rice, mac~n~cheese, pasta, cereals, toiletries, frozen meats, eggs, cheese, fresh veggies, bread and extras. We have a small selection of Nut Free and Gluten Free Items. We do not pre-bag groceries. Upon signing up we provide you with two over-sized cloth bags, and you shop with the assistance of a volunteer for the food items you and your family like and will enjoy.

Our facility is handicap accessible with a new lift for those with mobility issues. Our facility is also air conditioned. If you know of anyone who is struggling putting food on the table, please encourage them to stop by on any Tuesday from 4:00 – 6:00.

Our hours of operation are 4:00 – 7:00 pm, however, there is paperwork to complete therefore, we ask all new clients to come between 4:00 – 6:00 pm.

We are in the basement of the Unitarian Universalist Church @ 16 Ashland Street, Haverhill. Bring a picture ID and a piece of Mail showing your current address.
