Help Me Name My Next Food Challenge!

Food challenges are always fun! In the past, I’ve tried a couple of them.

The “Fire in My Piehole” Challenge
Participants had 90 seconds to eat an extremely spicy meat pie made with homemade scorpion pepper and Carolina Reaper hot sauce. Then, they had to go five minutes without drinking anything or throwing up to win a T-shirt and earn a spot on the Wall of Fame (or Wall of Flame!).
Fifteen people completed the challenge, but nearly all had serious reactions, so I decided to retire it.

Eat any six handpies faster than the previous record holder, and your food was free! You also won a T-shirt.

Now it’s time for a NEW challenge!
This time, I want to create one HUGE handpie weighing 1, 2, or even 3 pounds! Beat the previous record holder’s time, and you’ll win a T-shirt.

i got a new menu started for next week
amd were gonna be setting up mid november one day selling our homemade authentic dutch stroopwafels out of the food truck, perfect dessert for cooler weather as we approach the holiday season!!

We originally started in 2021 in Petal, Mississippi, in a food trailer. We saw that the old Petal Florist building was for sale and had most recently been a dog grooming business that was no longer in operation. We purchased the building and renovated it.
We sold gourmet hotdogs and handpies for a couple of years and had a lot of new and repeat customers. We sold the business and took a break for a year, then finally decided to open in Tupelo, Mississippi, selling handpies under the name “The Handpie Guy.”
The reason we picked that name was because whenever I was out in Hattiesburg or Petal, whether at a restaurant or shopping, someone who didn't know my name but may have been a customer would say, “Hey, it's the Handpie Guy!” or “What's up, Handpie Guy?” Sometimes I would get “Hotdog Guy” or “Hey, Weiner Man!” LOL.
Since I wasn't selling hotdogs anymore, I decided to call the business The Handpie Guy and focus only on fresh-baked handpies.
Since opening, we have come up with over 120 flavors and are always trying new ones.
We moved back to Petal/Hattiesburg in December 2025 and have been slowly introducing The Handpie Guy to new and old customers on the weekends.
We currently don't have our own building yet, but we're working on it. We now have a new food trailer that will be going out soon!
in the meantime we are taking preorders for friday and saturdays doing pickups and deliveries for frozen to bake at home or fresh baked.

We'll have our dozen specials, lunch specials, always-new flavors, and a rotating menu. We'll also be making our authentic Dutch stroopwafels and cheesy dough dogs (all-beef hotdogs with cheese baked into our buttery dough).
