“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32
What if the kindness we show today became a reflection of the grace we have already received?
As Christians, we aren’t called to forgive because people always deserve it. We forgive because Christ first forgave us. We aren’t kind only when it is easy, convenient, or reciprocated. We choose kindness because Jesus has called us to live differently.
The world tells us to hold onto offenses, keep score, and give people what they deserve. But the Gospel reminds us that we received mercy when we deserved judgment. Jesus took our sin upon Himself, paid the price we could never pay, and offers us forgiveness through Him.
And when we truly allow God to work in us, His goodness should become evident in the way we live. We should carry so much of His love, grace, kindness, and goodness within us that others see something different in us—and want to know where it comes from.
Not because we are perfect. Not because we have it all together. But because Jesus is changing us from the inside out.
So today, let’s ask God to soften our hearts. Help us be quick to forgive, slow to anger, generous with grace, and intentional about showing compassion—even when it’s difficult.
May the way we love, serve, forgive, and treat others point beyond ourselves and toward Him. May people see the goodness of God in us and desire to experience that same goodness for themselves.
