Everyone, Meet Fancy!

Fancy is our Head Prep Chef and one of the true backbones of Ditali’s. She first joined our family in 1993 and has proudly served for over 32 years. Over the decades, she’s worked at three different Ditali’s locations, taking on many roles — including manager at two of them. She’s also our second-longest-tenured team member, right behind Bud!

Fancy’s Favorite Dish:
It’s not one dish in particular — it’s the sauces. She says, “The sauces are my favorite part because to me, they’re the heart of every pasta.”
If you’ve ever enjoyed our Alfredo, Spicy, Meat, or Marinara sauce, Fancy made it herself — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

P.S. Don’t forget her famous Lasagnas — they’re her pride and joy, made with all the love and care that only Fancy can bring. ❤️

Everyone meet Seth!
(Don’t mind that guy climbing out of the boat. Sometimes when you put boats in water, they get stuck. Who knew?)

Seth is a manager for us at Ditalis and has been with us for over 13 years now.

His favorite dish at the restaurant is the Chicken Pomodori. His words, “It’s because of the combination of the three sauces used to create it, is what makes the dish stand out. Each sauce is made in-house and then once you add the cajun trinity to it *chefs kiss* Very robust and flavorful.”

He even has a little secret menu item: Detroit style pizza w/ cup pepperoni, oregano, & ricotta. (But you have to make sure he’s in the kitchen because not everyone knows how to make it. This is a personal item he started doing in the kitchen.)

This whole thing started in 1983 by Otis (Mr. O), who opened a pizza-by-the-slice shop at Belle Promenade Mall. In 1984, his son-in-law, Bud, joined the company and played a key role in shaping its direction. Under Bud’s leadership, Ditalis expanded in 2001 with the opening of its first full-service sit-down restaurant—marking the transition from mall-based locations to a standalone establishment.

I, Gary, joined the Ditalis family in 2000 as a part-time pizza maker at our Oakwood Mall location. Over the years, I had the privilege of learning from Otis and Bud, who were not just mentors but also like family to me. Following Otis’s retirement in 2011 and Bud’s in 2018, I became the third-generation owner of Ditalis.

Today, I am honored to carry forward the same commitment to quality, service, and community that has defined Ditalis for over 40 years. Our values remain unchanged: to serve exceptional food, provide outstanding service, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere that our guests have come to expect.

As we look to the future, we are excited to reintroduce Ditalis, while staying true to the legacy that Otis and Bud built. We remain dedicated to delivering the same exceptional pizza and dining experience that has made us a trusted name for over four decades.
