COOKBOOK AND ME UPDATES!

I’m still working on the cookbook! I have a few more pages done, but my health took a turn.

I just got out of the hospital, which I was in for heart problems.

I’m at home recovering now, but not concerning myself with anything work related (sorry not sorry).

Once I am well enough to stay awake more than a few hours at a time, I will begin working on the book again.

Take care of yourselves, and happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there.

You may have heard already, and yes it’s true -

PLM is closing.

I want to address a couple of things about it:

1. It is not closing due to lack of support.

Our customer base is AMAZING. And it’s so much more than just a “customer base”. Over the last year and a half, regulars became like family. And like a typical RGV family, it grew very fast!

Vegans, non-vegans, keto, allergy parents and kids, and even just foodies in general. Our family is made up of a beautiful blend of people and personalities.

I’m going to miss seeing all of you and celebrating your wins and mourning your losses with you.

Thank you for proving that PLM could make it even in an environment like Harlingen.

But in the end, it was my body that failed. Not the restaurant. Rather than being a lack of business that brought PLM to its knees, it was the exact opposite - I cannot physically keep up!

2. I do not plan on reopening.

I am not going to give it another go when I get healthy. If I did, I wouldn’t have learned anything at all. Lol.

I need to obey the needs of my body. And my body needs to not have a job where I’m on my feet and performing physical labor.

I also do not want to be in charge of managing employees. That is not something I am even the least bit interested in doing.

So, PLM is done.

I am sharing my recipes, though. I am also going to continue doing Takuache Coffee (I can mix, flavor, grind, and bag from my home kitchen according to cottage law) as well as other shelf stable things like spice mixes, seasoned olive oils, pozole kits, etc.

But yes, the restaurant is closing. And yes, forever.

I love all of you from the bottom of my heart.

I’ll see you at some pop-ups when I feel well enough.

And I look forward to finally being a member of the RGV Vegans community instead of just a source. 😉

Whether it was a cake, a special order, a bag of coffee, or a cookbook (and the two of you who bought the ribs!), you helped me pay my rent for March when I had a very, very difficult February.

Words can’t express how much your support means to me. I feel the love. This is the best community. 💜💜💜

Not open today.

I’m going to be posting an updated schedule soon that will hopefully allow my body the rest it needs to heal.

Looking at dine-in one or two days a week, and filling the rest of the week with classes, meal preps, and special orders.

My newest cookbook is ready for PREORDER!!!

40+ recipes from my restaurant kitchen, all of which are vegan and free from gluten, nuts, peanuts, and sesame.

I've also included some tips and tricks I've learned that make my life easier while cooking and baking, as well as links to products that make my food taste even more amazing (that most people don't know about!).

The price for pre-order is $20, and it will go up once the book is edited and ready for release (within the next few weeks).

Congratulations to Jade on her baptism today!!

I was honored to make a cake to celebrate. It’s gluten-free and vegan (because everyone deserves to celebrate, even if they can’t have wheat or dairy!) and it’s Cap’n Crunch flavored inside. 😀

Hi, everyone!

I have good news and I have bad news.

Good news: the antibi0tic5 are working!! My sinuses (and subsequently, ears and nose) finally opened after nearly a week!! It was so miserable and I was in a lot of pain 😭

Bad news: there’s a lot of blood and.. other stuff.. exiting my face without my consent.

It’s not safe for me to prepare food for y’all like this.

So even though I’m finally feeling better I still can’t open. I’m going to take the time to try and finish the cookbook and also plan some classes to help get the money for my rent together.

Thank y’all for your extreme patience and understanding. And thanks for not forgetting about PLM. I can’t wait to cook for you again.
