To everyone who has said very amazing stories and words about Jimmy, thank you. You don’t realize how much all your comments mean to us. We are having his services on Saturday, May 16th at Garden of Memories and a celebration of life at The Shimmy Shack afterwards. We would love for anyone who has known Jimmy to attend. Thank you to everybody who’s had very great memories of him.

Seriously can’t believe i’m posting this, but it’s with sincere sadness that the founder of Southport Hall, Rivershack Tavern, Pat Fannie’s and The Shimmy Shack, Jimmy Alfred Collings, has passed. He’s been everything from a cruise ship bartender, to the best father any 2 children can ever have. He’s given everyone so many memories, you can’t even keep up with them. I wasn’t around before 97 and didn’t have a chance to truly see my dad in his hay day, but when him and my mom opened up the shimmy shack, everything came to light. He showed us how to make barstools, what alcohol to stay away from, how to properly kick people out, and most of all, he taught me how to be a god damn great golfer. I was so grateful to have an amazing dad to show my brother and I the world and also his personality, which if you know jimmy, you either hate the guys guts or love him to death. Everything he’s done for us will always be in our hearts. I love you dad.

We will have a service held for him on May 16th at Garden of Memories on Airline Hwy.
Visitation starts at 10 Am
Service starts at 12 Pm
There will be a celebration of life at The Shimmy Shack afterwards.
Anybody who knew jimmy, even for a day, is welcome to come.
