Due to unforeseen problems like the power going out, we had to close our restaurant FOUR SUNS FISH AND CHIPS. Our fish mkt. Peterson's Fish Market is still open but cash or check only. Darn wind! Looks dark in mkt. But we are open.

Morning all. Our winds are picking up out there as predicted. I believe they will settle down by Thursday. Glad we got our nets out. Today is another fillet day. Today is our oldest granddaughter Corinnas birthday. I was blessed with being able to watch her being born. Her other grandma Linda was also in attendance and we both hugged and cried when she entered the world. Such an exciting moment. Since she was the first granddaughter she was spoiled and loved beyond words. She has grown into a beautiful woman and now watching her with her own daughter it truly is a wonderful blessing. I remember teaching her to count to ten in Spanish and to always be kind to others which she has carried thru her life. She makes us proud. Happy birthday sweetheart. I had to cut my scrolling short this morning as the negative things in the news just gets me down. Scroll past but I did see lots of pics of all our kids first day back at school. I heard the mumbling and grumbling of my young workers as they came into work after school yesterday. We asked so how was school today. I told them you don't know how easy life is when in school. I said just wait till you have to be an adult and have to work and pay bills. Kids will be kids. Well I have to go and get a move on. Have a great day. Remember to teach our kids to be kind and respectful. Gramma pat

Good morning. I used this labor day holiday to do absolutely nothing. Not a thing but eat and sit and watch TV or sit at my computer. So now its go,go,go and get back to work. PT this morning where I am sure I will get a workout. There is a pesky mosquito buzzing around me and I think I got him. Plus an annoying fly. Well we got the start of my door replacements and found out that there is no insulation around my doors. I knew it from how the cold air was coming in. Once I insulate with new doors it should make all the difference in the world. I see the wind is starting to pick up outside as there have been gale force wind warnings for our area. Yesterday's weather was awesome and the temps even got up to the hot zone. I have been noticing quite a bit more color on our trees and read that our colors should peak from Sept. 27th thru Oct.some time. It will be gorgeous once they peak. Well for all our kids in our area it is their first day of school. Please pay attention to the school buses when they stop to let the kids off. Even though you repeatedly tell them to look both ways they don't sometimes and dart out into the street. So please stop when you see the red flashing lights. We want to keep all of our kids safe. Today we will be busy filleting and once again get our Copper Harbor orders filleted and delivered. Our display case will be filled once again with all of our fresh fish. Well its time for me to get moving. Happy Tuesday to all. Hope you enjoyed your day off if you had one off. Back to work. Gramma

Waking up in a very comfortable strange bed and wanting coffee. Good morning sleepy heads. Guess I can drag myself out of bed and make a cup. Ramada Inn in marquette put us up and puppy Buddy for the night. Out at 2:30 am so pup could go p*e and then sleep in till 8 am. Ahhhhh bliss! Just a quick trip to go pick up a few things we can't find at home. Gils gift card for Texas Roadhouse got used last night and never disappointed. So we should be back home in a few hours. Kohls, Myers , Target, TJ Max and Menards primarily. The girls in Four Suns were pretty busy last night and with the nice weather should be today as well. The colors are really starting to pop and with all the lushness of our trees we should have a beautiful Fall. The great grands have stopped in a few times this week and the excitement of school starting is their main topic plus gramma got them a few new items of clothing and they loved them. I can remember when my boys were little and yard sales were my shopping center and the boys would get excited over the clothes I would find for them. Back in the day name brand clothing was not a big deal and so they dressed like all their cousins and friends. Times sure have changed. People who grew up poor like us can relate. I think a lot of people feel poor with the cost of food, gas, housing and clothing. Honestly don't know how some make it. Im grateful that our area has quite a few programs to help with these essentials. I donate as much as I can and feel good about helping out. We will be putting out our donation jar to collect any change you have for the holidays. A customer stopped in the other day and wanted to thank us for having those airconditioners and fans in our giveaway as he won an air conditioner and ended up giving it to someone who was in desperate need of one. It warmed my heart knowing this. I will be having a drawing again for free turkeys and hams sometime in October. My dog is pestering me and biting my feet so it's time to sign off. I hope you all get to enjoy your weekend and can get out and enjoy the weather. A content gramma
