Well a much cooler morning and a big good morning to all my readers and followers. Hubby came home yesterday and the whole family was happy for his return. 4 of the great grands and granddaughter stopped in along with the sons and some friends. A good home return. Plus the Ageless Home nursing person stopped in to set up his schedule. PT today sometime . I was totally surprised this morning at 6 a.m. when I carried my pup down the stairs outside for bathroom duty and a pretty large red fox darted from my neighbors back yard and came barreling thru the bushes and ran across my driveway out to our street. First time seeing one of them. Good thing I stay outside with the pup because that fox could have had puppy for breakfast. Another thing i want to mention when I picked up hubby from Canal View that the entire hallway from the elevator to the front door was lined with staff cheering and clapping for hubbys release as he says to go home. We both were moved by this nice gesture. Thanks again for helping him recover. It was still pretty hot in our restaurant yesterday but the staff fought their way thru the heat and stayed open. We will also be open regular hours today in Four Suns 11 to 7 and along with Peterson's Fish Market 10 to 5 and then be closed on Saturday the 4th of July. So here's to everyone enjoying their holiday. Be careful and be kind. Hold a door open for someone or even just a friendly smile and greeting. Someone going thru rough times will appreciate it. That much needed item in life called sleep. Overslept till 8 a.m. this morning as i was awake in the middle of the night. Puppy wanted to play and go outside. So now i am way behind my normal schedule so my post will be short this morning. As I stated in prior posts that both Peterson's Fish Market and Four Suns Fish and Chips will be closed on Saturday the 4th of July. Tons of events happening in our area and the weather looks good so if possible get out and celebrate our country's birthday. Hubby comes home this afternoon and he is chomping on the bit as they say. Still some therapy ahead but he is so much better. So this 4th we celebrate his release from nursing home care and our country's birthday. Thanks Canal View for all your help. We are well stocked at the fish market with fresh, smoked and frozen fish and seafood. So come on in Friday and get stocked up for your cookouts with family and friends. I better get moving here as I am late for work. Be safe in your celebrations and enjoy life. It's good to be alive. Gramma Pat

Wow is all I can say about the heat and humidity yesterday. Dangerous heat if you had to work in a kitchen or other places that do not have air conditioning. Our little restaurant got so hot that the staff started getting sick so not a hard decision to close the doors. Not sure how today will go but if it gets super hot we will close again. Peterson's Fish Market was fine yesterday as we kept the doors closed and had our air on in the front of the market. Our main older part of our building is constructed of stucco and that keeps it cooler. A couple fans going and we had no issues with the heat. I read where The Hut restaurant also ended up shutting down early due to the dangerous heat. The day before when we got those high winds and massive rain amounts that a lot of trees got knocked down. Good old Mother nature sure laid one on us. Well last night hubby and I were invited out for supper at Quincys restaurant by our dear friends. I had the whitefish, of course and it was delicious. We laughed so hard until the tears came and totally enjoyed their company. Been a long time since we have been out to dinner with friends. I even missed my coffee night with the gal pals but once hubby is back home, which is Thursday, life will get back to normal for us. So life goes on and we forge ahead. Been a long journey for all of us with hubby getting so sick but he is getting stronger every day and our prayers were answered with everyone who prayed for him. Thank you all. Our job now is to keep him healthy. I wanted to also share this info about urinary tract infections or UTIs especially in men and the elderly. If you have any symptoms, burning when you p*e, can't go when you feel the urge, tiredness, or confusion, get to the doctor. Sepsis can settle in and then you have a fight on your hands. Well its that time again. I hope you all have a good day and are well. My ankle injury is doing OK. Laid on the couch last night with a frozen bag of peas on it and it's better. So here we go Yoopers with another heat wave. Summer sure arrived with a bang, lol! A cool, lol, gramma

Our restaurant, Four Suns, will be closing today, Tuesday, June 30, at 2 pm due to the high temperature and humidity. The health of our employees is very important to us. Thank you for understanding and sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Right now as I sit outside waiting for my pup to do his bathroom duties it is gorgeous out. Nice breeze blowing and cooler temps. Some clouds but very nice. I hear my neighbors talking very loudly, disagreeing about something? Well a happy good morning from gramma as I patiently wait on my pup. This tiny little pomeranian could easily be an outside dog as he loves being outdoors. I got caught in that storm last night. I could barely see the road because of the rain and then the flooding was another thing to deal with. Made it home and stayed put. I think we are supposed to get more rain but the worse is the extreme heat and humidity that is coming. I hope everyone is safe out there. I invested in an air conditioner many years ago and boy am I glad I did. May only use it a half dozen times but sure makes living easier. My dog has the zoomies right now so once he is done it's time to go back inside. Well our fishermen are out on the big lake and pulling in lots of fresh whitefish. I did manage to get a little lake trout from my other fish suppliers yesterday so we did have some in our display case to sell. A reminder once again that we will be closed this Saturday, the 4th of July as well as our restaurant Four Suns Fish and Chips. Buddy my pup is finally settling down in the grass so time to get back indoors.I hope you all have a great day. Time for me to also get my version of the zoomies, lol. Gramma Pat

Good morning on this cloudy rain and storm threatening weather. We are going to get it today so just waiting for it to start. Yesterday when I picked up hubby to go out for lunch and to bring him home for a while I stepped off a tiny little part of the sidewalk and over my ankle went. I heard it go crunch and the intense pain shot up my leg. This is the ankle that would turn sideways if I even stepped on a tiny rock. So after icing it I am sitting here resting it however I still need to walk so it stays swollen. I haven't twisted it in a few years but those tendons hurt like crazy. Time will heal it. Our weekend flew by but we sure enjoyed the weather. Crazy busy at work and the restaurant. Another reminder that both Four Suns and Peterson's Fish Market will be closed this coming Saturday July 4th. All of the family and staff will be able to get out and enjoy some of the activities going on in the Keweenaw. Sorry to hear that no fireworks in copper harbor but I know Lake Linden and South Range will both put on a show for all to enjoy. Lake linden is usually on the 3rd and pretty sure south range is on the 4th but check your events on fb to make sure. After careful shopping for groceries yesterday I still felt sticker shock when the total rang up. Gas prices have dropped a tiny bit with Krist oil being the cheapest at $3.55 yesterday. Well time is ticking away and I need to hobble outside with my garbage bag before the truck arrives. The fish market is whispering my name so need to get to work. Try to stay dry today. Sunday funday! Well it looks like we are heading to a heat wave this coming week especially Tuesday. Sounds like it will hit all over the country. Heads up on our restaurant. In past years when it got too hot out the inside temps in the restaurant exceeded 100 plus degrees and when our workers started getting sick we have had to close down. So be prepared just in case. The fishermen are out there bringing in some beautiful lake superior whitefish but very little trout. After the 4th we will have another fisherman here who is able to fish for lake trout so we should have a decent supply. Also a heads up on our upcoming 4th of July holiday which is on Saturday. Both the restaurant and the fish market will be closed. There are so many different celebrations going on all over the copper country that we are not busy. Plus closing will allow all our family and employees the opportunity to participate in some of the celebrations. Sorry for the inconvenience. I will post thru out the week to remind everyone.
