It's been awhile since I posted any updates or news...I apologize for that. Life has a way of making plans for you and sometimes things happen that are out of our control.
Basically while trying to do some upgrades and get the new shop the way we needed it ,my mothers Dementia started taking a turn and getting worse quicker than any of us had imagined. We have discussed many ways, different thoughts, and ideas...and no matter how much we wanted to...a reopening is unfortunately NOT going to happen, due to I am her 24/7 care giver. I dont know how many of you believe in God, but I believe he has a plan for me...I struggle with this situation a lot, it's so hard to see my mother this way, but I know it's hard on her too.
I want to sincerely say " Thank you" to all of our Customers who supported us since the beginning, to everyone that kept checking in or asked when we would reopen. I am so blessed for the amount of support and kindness you have shown me throughout all of this.
I also want to say " Thank you" to Mike & Pam Nazelrod, who basically redid the first location and put Tim and my thoughts and dreams into a reality. They put a crazy amount of time into that shop and even handmade the Big Banana that was on the front of the building. We could never express how much that truly meant to us.
I need to Thank , Mary Fink, for purchasing the new location when the shop had to move. We have been friends since elementary school and we have been through a lot together, she didn't hesitate when we needed a new place to jump in feet first and " buy a building". Mary stepped in any time I needed coverage at the shop, while still working a full time job...I still don't know when she slept..lol The last year of the shop being open she was one of two that helped me run the shop everyday.
Friends Cassie, Jamie and daughter Bailey Schuchart, they were there for all the craziness...like using the tow truck to stand on to put up the banana...helping me to quickly fix something, Bailey and Cassie pitching in at the shop when we were short staffed or extremely busy...or just lending a hand.
My work crew...from day one...were great girls - Rachael, Ally, Shawna, Rebekah, Peyton, and Angel we had a lot of fun times together.
Rebekah Ashkettle, I don't have enough words for you...you started with us, day one...and you were with me til what we didn't know at the time..was our last day. You could run that place with your eyes closed, you kept me in order, kept me going and your ideas and the ways you did things..made the shop run so smoothly. You weren't just an employee, you became one of my dearest friends.
I have met sooo many wonderful people through the Fractured Banana, sooo many great memories with customers.
Just want to end this with saying, I am Thankful for been given the opportunity to run the ice cream shop, and I am so sorry that I can not continue on with it, my mother has to come first. Who knows, never know what plans God has for me down the road... maybe..one day.
I'm gonna post a couple albums of photos..of memories, Starting on this post of getting original shop ready, to grand opening. I'll make another post of memories.
