We would like to take this opportunity to let everyone know, that due to health issues in our family, Shirley’s Home Cooking will not be reopening for the 2023 season.

Running a family business is one of the most difficult things anyone can do. It has it’s up and downs, but the key to any family businesses success is family. Unfortunately, our family is being challenged on several fronts and we have to prioritize our lives and move on.

Anyone that knows us, understands that the last few years have been very challenging. Not only due to health reasons, but this post COVID environment has not been kind to us.

We have had a great 33 year run and have memories to last a lifetime. We are holding our head’s high and are very proud of our product, accomplishments and awards we have received over the years.

Who knows what the future holds for Shirley’s Home Cooking as a brand, but to continue to open and not have a back up plan for the future, would be doing a disservice to our guests that have traveled countless miles to enjoy a meal at Shirley’s.

We do have some catering jobs and parties already scheduled for this year and we plan on honoring those commitments. We are also planning on continuing to do catering, so if you would like to have Shirley’s cater your event, please don’t hesitate to call 423-957-1320.

From our entire Shirley’s family, we want to thank all our faithful guests for taking the time to visit and hopefully our paths will cross again in the future.

We had a great time catching up with our guests at last night’s Valentine Dinner. I (Jeff) was moving around a little slow (following my hip replacement on Wednesday) but it was great just being able to be there at all. Myself as well as Shirley, Angie and all the staff, really appreciate you and hope this year’s Valentines Day was the best one yet. Now it’s time to get ready for this year’s opening on Friday March 31st and the beginning of another great year.

This year’s Valentines Day dinner is going to be a great one. Our menu is going to be traditional southern fair served family style. The menu will be roast beef, fried chicken & country ham (your choice of 2) the vegetables will be mashed potatoes & gravy, cornbread salad, green beans, cole slaw, creamed corn and fried apples. Desserts will be peach cobbler, hot fudge cake and red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. We are taking reservations for seating times from 4 pm to 7 pm.
