The East Chicago Zel's will be closing on November 15th. This has been a difficult decision as we've been a part of the community serving loyal customers for over 58 years! The word “burgers” it’s self is derived from the word “Hamburgers”, and no, not because the burgers were bade out of ham. They were actually called “Hamburgers” because of the Hamburg steaks that burgers were made out of, imported by German immigrants.
