From October 17 through November 1, our 1903 historic tea house surrenders its daylight to the shadows of Edgar Allan Poe. We invite you to ponder, weak and weary, over a dark and brooding cup of tea. Our exclusive "Quoth the Raven Nevermore Terror Tea" service features an eerie array of midnight-hued bites, melancholy pastries and sandwiches, eerie desserts, and deeply aromatic loose-leaf botanicals. Beneath the weight of history and the watchful eye of the Raven, you’ll indulge in a feast designed for the brokenhearted, the literary eccentric, and the beautifully macabre. California has plenty of coffee stops, but sipping tea and eating warm scones inside a Victorian home feels delightfully out of step with the usual routine.

Tea for Two? The Maverick? Or our TEAny Tea (for kids 9 and under)? If you haven't been to By the Teashore, now's the time to make reservations at www.ByTheTeashore.com! We're open Wednesday through Friday 11am-3pm (last seating at 1:30pm), and Saturday/Sunday 11am-4pm (last seating at 2:30pm). Located at 724 Main Street, Half Moon Bay. Dog-friendly patio is available on a walk-in basis only. Reservations highly recommended. Almost every bite is made here from scratch!! Your soft (not dry & crumbly!) scones, the clotted cream, lemon curd, sandwiches, soups, etc., etc.! We have gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options! TEA you soon!!

Exciting news! 🩷🫖🌊 Treat yourself to some summertime tea on the coast!

Our Summer Hours will start weekends in June through August! 11AM to 4PM, last seating at 2:30 PM. Reservations for parties of 6 or fewer can be made at our website linked in bio. Larger groups may contact us for a buyout. Our dog-friendly patio is walk-in only. We can’t wait to see you By the Teashore! 🌈☕️
