equations of love that any logic or reasons can be found" During this last year, we have found so much love in this town we moved to only five years ago and now call our forever home. When I set out to open the tea shop to help my daughter have a job, I could NEVER have imagined all the beautiful people we would meet along the way. It has truly been a remarkable and profound experience and we want to say thank you to everyone who came to the shop and shared their loved ones with special needs as well as their stories of having a family member with special needs. We have been visited by nurses, doctors, teachers, special needs therapists, group homes, independent living places and specials needs programs from the high schools in the area. We have met so many children with special needs who are benefiting from the enormous strides that are being made in education...As a mother of a daughter with Down Syndrome, I have tried to bring a little bit of awareness to the important issue of inclusion not only in the schools and the workplace but also into our lives and communities. I hope I was able to do that. I hope I was able to give back a little bit of what Beth and I received from all of you. In the end all that remains is love... Tea Time has begun again!!! With this lovely cool weather now is the day effect time to come in and have a pot of tea and scones, sandwiches or some dessert. Todays scones are lemon 🍋 blueberry, lemon ginger, pumpkin spice, apple cinnamon and gf chocolate chip and maple french toast. Yummy sandwiches and desserts and lots of new teas and gifts to shop for in the store.

We will be reopening the tea room and tea shop on Thursday September 14th at 11:00 am. Our hours will be Thursday - Saturday 11:00 - 4:00. Sundays are reserved for private events. We hope you all had a wonderful summer as we did and as the weather cools we look forward to seeing you for a cup of tea 🫖… We have harvested honey from our bees and filled the fridge and store with lots of goodies. I would like to expose a situation. If your children (or grandchildren) don’t learn to play with children with special needs at school, maybe you should spend 10 minutes tonight explaining it to them. Because, although they don't currently live with these children at school, they will find them in their lives for sure.
In light of recent events regarding the exclusion of a child with autism from attending a school trip and a child with Down Syndrome being expelled from dance class because she couldn't keep up with it, I feel the need to share this. There are boys and girls that no one invites to birthday parties. There are special children who want to be part of a team but are not selected because it's more important to win than to include these children. Kids with special needs aren't weird, they just want what everyone wants: to be accepted!
Can I ask a question? Is there anyone willing to copy and paste this post on their wall without sharing it, like I did, for all the special children out there?
Please teach your children to be kind to these beautiful children!

Lavender Scones are baking at our house 🏡 along with some lavender tea for a refreshing herbal treat. On Sunday Beth and I went to visit one of our favorite places in the area and enjoyed the breathtaking lavender fields and collected lots of goodies in their beautiful shop including their own amazing lavender extract that Monica so graciously gave me. Look for some delicious scones cooked with this yummy extract when we open back up after Labor Day!!! Meanwhile, we hope you are all enjoying the many joys of summer 💜

Good Sunday Morning,

As we move into the second year of our tea shop being open and doing great (thank you so much to everyone that has come in and helped support us) we want to become more of a community support for the adults and families in Hackettstown and the local surrounding areas with special needs.

Our first goal is to put together a list of medical, dental, and mental health providers as well as physical, occupational and speech providers who work with and understand special needs people and their common and unique issues.
We would also like to hear about anyone doing any kinds of therapies including art, music, equine etc. The emphasis for this will be for ADULTS with disabilities.

I would love to hear from families or family members with special needs and who they like and would recommend.

If anyone one is a professional and wants to learn more about working and helping people with special needs please contact me as well.

This is a positive only post to help me gather together a list of resources in Warren, Morris, Sussex, and Essex Counties.
