If you are familiar with Gunnison, the Brushfire is the only other store that stays open until midnight or later other than the bars, Walmart, and Loves gas station. We see life as a personal journey, initiated by circumstances outside our control. Along with our current direction, we can somewhat grasp who we are this moment. r a book, and just hanging out or being goofy, we capture a little piece of the moment in which we exist together. We honor God as the Author of life, and that through Him and the Bible we are able to understand the world around us and each other. We extend not only our services as coffee shop and bookstore, but our lives, and long to make memories with people on any given night.

Who we are

The Brushfire ministry opened a coffeehouse as a space to cultivate relationships and serve people in the town of Gunnison, CO in 2002. Our shop carries a great selection of books that address different topics of truth, world issues, and stories from a Christian perspective. Our books are available for purchase and loan. Our passion is for others to find value and meaning in life, and have come to know that Jesus Christ is the answer. The God of the bible is the foundation of what we do, yet we welcome people with differing beliefs to engage in relationships, enjoy each other, and talk about the different issues of our existence.
