Our Home❤️❤️🦐🦀🦪🦞🐟
At the very bottom of Terrebonne, where the road nearly runs out of land, Bayou Pointe-aux-Chenes glows orange at the end of the day. 🌅 Shrimp boats rest along the banks, their nets folded up, and the marsh stretches out flat and endless toward the Gulf.
This is deep bayou country, home to the Pointe-au-Chien people and generations of Cajun fishing families who have made their living from these waters. 🦐 Wind-bent oaks lean over stilted camps, pelicans drift by low, and the whole world seems to hush as the sun sinks into the marsh grass.
Places like this are living on the front line of Louisiana's vanishing coast, and every sunset here feels a little more precious for it. The people who call it home are as tough and rooted as the old oaks. This is the Louisiana that holds on. 🧡
