Stella's

Stella's Aunt Stella was born October 21, 1910 in the lower east side of Manhattan. Following high school, Stella decided to devote her life to the church as a nun.
(1993)

She served with Dominican congregations in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn, which allowed her to stay close to her family. What I loved most about my time with Aunt Stella was her love of cooking and family dinners. I can close my eyes today, picture her cooking in the kitchen and can still smell the aroma of fresh spaghetti sauce on the stove. Those memories were some of my favorite as a child and

the inspiration for my restaurant. When I decided to open Stella’s in 2009, choosing the right name was easy for me. I wanted a place where my customers would feel like family and the food would remind them of home. So who better to represent everything I value than my Aunt Stella? Sadly, Aunt Stella passed away in October of 2000 and was not around to see my dream come true. I do know from the days the doors opened, she has blessed me with her presence throughout the restaurant. And every time you come visit us at Stella’s, I promise to serve up good food and good service with the same love and passion that my Aunt Stella did for me.
